SERIES HISTORY
North Cobb and Milton have developed a compelling recent history, with the Warriors holding the upper hand in each of the last three meetings between the programs. North Cobb earned a 40-14 victory in 2021, followed it with a 21-7 win in 2022, and completed the three-game stretch with an impressive 42-27 road victory at Milton in 2023.
Since that last meeting, however, Milton has firmly established itself among the elite programs in Georgia—and the nation. The Eagles went on to capture the state championship later that same 2023 season before producing a perfect 15-0 campaign and another state title in 2024, finishing the year as the nation’s top-ranked public school program.
Milton remained a formidable opponent in 2025, finishing 8-4 against a demanding schedule that included matchups with Buford, Gainesville, Roswell and The First Academy in Florida. The Eagles advanced to the second round of the Class 5A state playoffs before their season ended in a narrow 24-19 loss to Jackson County.
Now, the two programs meet again on August 21 in one of North Cobb’s most anticipated early-season tests. For the Warriors, it is an opportunity to renew a series they have controlled in recent years while measuring themselves against a Milton program that has spent the past several seasons competing on both the state and national stage.

BOTH TEAMS RANKED AHEAD OF ANTICIPATED MATCHUP
When North Cobb and Milton take the field on August 21, it will be one of the most highly anticipated matchups of the early Georgia high school football season. Both programs enter 2026 carrying national recognition, with the Warriors ranked No. 84 in the High School Football America preseason national rankings and Milton once again regarded among the nation’s premier programs.
The matchup brings together two programs accustomed to playing on big stages, featuring elite talent and competing deep into November. For North Cobb, it is an opportunity to make an early statement against a Milton program that has become one of Georgia’s most recognizable national powers. For the Eagles, it is another major test on a schedule built to compete with the best.
With two nationally recognized programs, plenty of college-level talent on both sidelines, and a recent series that has produced memorable games, North Cobb vs. Milton has all the ingredients of a marquee Friday night matchup.
Both teams enter the 2026
season with high expectations.
